The Avid Pen Interview

When I was first approached to do this interview for The Avid Pen, I reluctantly agreed.  I was sent over the 10 questions and I procrastinated like a good artist does.  I had to email her twice and apologize for not getting the questions back to her when I said I would.  Knowing I could no longer put it off without looking like a complete unorganized jerk, I sat down on a Sunday night and began the process of thoughtfully answering Christa's questions.  It took me several hours to dig deep and then polish my words so that I sounded somewhat intelligent.

But I learned something through this process. These questions went deep for me and for the first time in my art career I began to understand why I paint, the colors I am drawn to and even pinpointed the style of art that inspires me.  I never thought to ask these questions of myself.  I simply painted because it felt good and I enjoyed it immensely. But this interview brought me to a deeper understanding and also began more questions within me that I can't wait to explore!
